Monarch - Using Clarity to Sync Outlook Contacts to Monarch

Contacts that you have in Outlook at not automatically assumed to be business contacts that you want in Monarch. I don’t know about you, but sometimes my dentist, uncle, or spam contacts sneak into my Outlook and I don’t want them in Monarch. That’s why we make it easy to sync a contact from Outlook to Monarch but didn’t go so far as to automatically assume and pull them in for you.

The easiest way to get started is to do the following steps:

1. Click on the Notification bell located on the right top of the page.

2. Look for a new notification that looks like below. Note: If you don't see the new notificaiton, please make sure the notificaiton is enabled. Please see the last section of this page to enable to the noticifation.

3. Cick into the new notificaiton (“X Contacts from Outlook Could be Added to Monarch”). This will load the expanded view of the notification where you can review the potential contacts and either Accept them as a contact or Reject.

The expanded view will display a screen detailing those contacts First Name, Last Name, Company, and the first date they were found with Created Date. It’s important to note that these are not YET contacts. They similar to the Potential Contacts at this point and we’re merely surfacing them as Contacts you might want added to Monarch.

4. Click Actions button for each contact and select either Accept or Reject the contact. It is recommended that you choose one of these two options and keep this list clean for the most optimal experience of easily managing contacts.

  • Accept – This will copy any information from Outlook (even information not displayed on this screen) into the Add a Contact dialog box where you can easily edit and then Save the contact. Once saved this contact will no longer display for this notification. Changes made to the contact in Monarch or Outlook will update the other location, keeping them in sync.
  • Reject – This will launch a confirmation dialog making sure yo want to remove the contact from the Potential Outlook Contacts notification. Doing so will no longer try to bring that contact into Monarch for you, but it will continue to exist in Outlook.

Clarity will ignore any contacts that you’ve previously added or already exist in Monarch based upon the email address.

To enabled Potential Outlook Contacts That Can Be Created In Monarch notificaiton, please follow the below steps:
