Getting Started - A Quick Reference to Start with Matrix

Welcome to Matrix! Below are a few steps you may want to follow if you are new to Matrix.


First, take the online training courses.

  1. Select the Matrix University tab located on the far right center of any page.
  2. Click Steps to Success.
  3. Underneath Steps to Success, click Navigation Matrix to view the video.  Then Step 1: Define Goals (Managers)
  4. After you complete Step 1, select Step 2 and continue the same process until you have completed all of the steps.

Second, update your Deal Preferences

You can use this feature if you generally use the same options on your Deals, such as the same Office, Outlet, Revenue Type, and Commission combinations. 

1. From the Menu Bar, select My Profile.

2. Click the Preferences tab.

3. To get started, you will need to add a blank line. To do this, click the [+].

4. To add an Outlet, click the drop down arrow beside the Outlet field, and then select an Outlet.

5. To add a Revenue Type for an Outlet, click the drop down arrow beside the Revenue Type field, and then select a Revenue Type. If you do not wish to select Revenue Types, uncheck the Use Revenue Types checkbox.

6. To edit a Commission Rate, click in to the % field, then type in your number.

7. To add a Default Deal Office, select an Office from the Select an Office drop down list.

8. Select Save when finished.

Third, setup for Email Activity Types – Saving your personal vCard 

To use this activity type, you will not create an activity, the activity will be created for you! The email contents will be saved to your Contact in Matrix, when you send the email through your email system.

1. From the Menu Bar, select My Profile.

2. Click the Integration's tab.

3. Click the Download vCard link.

4. Follow the prompts on the screen to Save the vCard as a contact in your electronic email address book.

5. Create an email, as you normally would in Outlook or Gmail. Just be sure to include your personal Matrix Activity contact in the Bcc line before you send the email.

Fourth, Save Activities to your Calendar

Matrix makes it easy to take the activities that you create and place them into your Outlook or Google Calendar.

1. From the Menu Bar, select My Profile.

2. Click the Preferences tab.

3. Toggle ON the option for Automatically download new Activities to my calendar.

4. When you Save your Activity, a file will download which you will then need to Open and Save it into your calendar solution.

Fifth, activate your own Espresso Shot

The Espresso Shot is a daily email, providing you with targeted information from Matrix that will help you start your morning off right!

1. From the Menu Bar, select My Profile.

2. Click the Preferences tab.

3. Toggle ON the option for Daily Espresso Shot Email.

4. Select Save.

To get to the Live Group Instruction Trainings:

  1. Select the Matrix University tab located on the far right center of any page.
  2. Simply select Open Learning Sessions. Then you will see the list of Topics that will be covered and the Date and Time that it is scheduled.
  3. To register, click the link on the Topic of the session you want to attend.
  4. Fill out the First Name, Last Name and Email Address fields.
  5. Select the Register button.
  6. Once you register, you will receive an email with instructions on how to join the session.
