In order to access Matrix Locker, please navigate to Lists and then select Matrix Locker. The following sections will guide you how to use the Matrix Locker.
Upload a File
- Click the Upload button [+].
- Browse to, and select the file from your computer.
- In the Choose a Folder drop list, select the folder that the file will reside in. If you do not choose one, the file will reside in the My Files folder.
- Optionally, you can affiliate the file with one or more accounts, agencies, activities, contacts, and/or deals. Affiliating the file will allow you to see the file on the selected item’s profile page. For example, if you affiliate a file with ABC Company, then that file will be accessible on ABC Company’s profile page (in the Locker). To affiliate the file with an item, click in to the Affiliations search bar and begin typing at least the first two characters of the item’s name (or more if you need to narrow your search). Then select the item from the drop list that appears.
- Click the Save button.
Search for a File/Folder
You can use the Search field at the top of the list to Search for a file or folder within the immediate folder that you are currently viewing. In the field, type at least the first two characters. As you type, Matrix will begin searching and display any matching results. To see less results type more characters in to the Search field.
View/Download a File
In the list of files, click the name of the file that you wish to view. The prompt that appears depends on the browser that you are using. Follow the prompts to open/view the file OR to save/download the file.
Navigate to an Affiliation
If you affiliate an account, agency, contact, activity, or deal with the file, the name will be hyperlinked to that item’s profile page. Click the name to display the page.
Note: If there is more than one affiliation for the file, the words see all will display instead of an item’s name. In this case, you will need to hover your mouse over the words see all, and then select the item that you wish to display.
Working with the Files in a Folder
Once the file is stored in the Matrix Locker you can perform tasks such as Moving, Renaming, Editing Affiliations, Deleting, and Sharing. All of these tasks can be performed directly on a file in the list. To get started, move your mouse over the file that you wish to work with, and then click the gear icon located on the right side of the file. Then select the appropriate option from the menu.
The My Teams Files
Once your AE uploads any files using Matrix Locker, you will see their folder here.
The My Files +
You can create folders here that your AE's will not see.
Move a File in to a Different Folder
Select Edit Affiliations/Folder from the menu. Select a different folder from the Choose a Folder field. Then, click the Save button.
Rename a File
Select Rename File from the menu. In the File Name field, type a new name. Then, click the Save button.
Edit Affiliations
Select Edit Affiliations/Folder from the menu. To remove an affiliation, click the [x] located on the right side of the item listed in the affiliations field. To add an affiliation click in to the Affiliations search bar and begin typing at least the first two characters of the item’s name (or more if you need to narrow your search). Then select the item from the drop list that appears. Optionally, you can affiliate the file with one or more accounts, agencies, activities, contacts, and/or deals.
Sharing
The sharing feature allows you to share the file with anyone, whether or not they use Matrix. Select Share File from the menu. A dialog box will appear with the URL of the file. Click in to the field, highlight and copy the entire address. (Hint: Ctrl + C is the Windows shortcut key to copy and Command + C is the Apple shortcut key to copy.) Once you have copied the address, click the OK button. Now just paste it into any IM or Email for instant access. The link will be active for as long as the file exists. If the recipient tries to access it after the file has been removed then they will receive a file not found error.
Delete a File
Select Delete from the menu. A confirmation message box appears. Click Delete to confirm your action. The file will be permanently deleted, and all affiliations to that file will be lost.
